Here Come The Newlywed Season 2 Winners…

Last year, I blogged about the winners of Here Come The Newlywed Season 1 and was shocked at how fast the post gained popularity. The post even led to me getting an actual interview with last year’s winners, Johnnie and Crystal Moutra. So it was only fitting that I write a post on this year’s couple. The final couples were Marlo & Mark Corliss from Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts and Makayla & Kenny McMorris from Omaha, Nebraska.
I honestly feel each couple on the show learned something new about their spouses. Before the final decision was made, both husbands gave a heart-felt speech about what they’d learned in the house about their wife. Both husbands gave great speeches, but in the end it was the Corlisses that ended up winning over $400,000. That’s a nice chunk of change for a newlywed couple and it’ll definitely allow them to get started on the right track financially. I thought all of the couples this year were great and it’s good to see a show about marriage, relationships and getting to know the one you’ve married be the focus of a reality television show. This is only the beginning for all the couples. I wish them all the best and thanks again ABC for another great season.

I am soooo dissapointed at the outcome. I was really rooting for Kenny and Makayla. I think they deserved to win over the Corlisses. Don’t get me wrong I liked the Corlisses but the McMorrises were a good couple througout the entire competition. The Corlisses were in the bottom a majority of the show. These same people that thought their relationship sucked throughout the competition then turned around and voted them the winners…..I don’t get it. Granted his speech at the end was a tear jerker………but so what! It just shows you that “they” hate to see us with money. Clearly the Corlisses already had money with their $500 dollar jeans and $5000 birthday gifts. You can tell the McMorrises have struggled……..They were a power couple and I am dissapointed at the outcome………..oh well it is not the first time and it wont be the last that the ending of a reality show unfair
I agree with Key. The McMorrisses were robbed. Maybe, if they would let the audience hear the reasons the people gave for their votes would clear up some things about why the Corlisses won.
I was also pulling for the McMorrisses, but I think the speech at the end helped them. I just knew Mark would stick to his usual ways and say something to mess it up, but he came through when it was necessary. He did a tear-jerker speech and you could tell it was from the heart. I’m sure both couples learned something about their spouses and I guess in the end, that’s what the game is about.
I do wonder why ABC isn’t doing a post group follow-up show. It would be interesting to see what everyone thought of each other. The Bachelorette gets one
get over it, this game is not about fairness or not, it is not a charity game, who needs it most or who doesn’t, it’s about newly weds, and learning to grow in the relationship…. the money, like Richard said on the show, he had it and then it’s gone, I’m happy for the winners….
All the couples deserved to win, however, only one can be crowned the winner. Am happy that Marlo and Mark won. Am always rooting for the underdogs and the fact that they learnt the most while doing this show and realised that they are happy to have each other even when they thought they would not celebrate their 1st anniversary. All the best to all the couples though.
I do agree with Theo that it would be really nice if ABC could do a reunion for the viewers to know how the show impacted the couples.
I love that the underdog won. I’m not sure why they kept getting voted against because it seemed they got along with everyone. I thought the McMorris’ disagreed more then any other couple on the show and I am so glad they did not win. Everyone learned alot about eachother and I think this showed made all their relationships stronger and created some good friendships.
