New Ways To Green Your Space

Back in May ’07 we blogged about the importance of being ecologically responsible with the energy and resources we use everyday; “Necessarily Green“ That posting was probably a bit premature for some folks based on the limited response. However, the blogosphere buzz over energy conservation is deafening now that the trend has become a paradigm shift and worldwide everyone rethinks the “carbon footprint” we leave.
Early during President Obama’s presidency he initiated special programs aimed at reawakening our bereft economy from it’s prime-lending hangover. At it’s basics, the plan is to rebuild our economy with more financial stability while simultaneously infusing design and construction practices that are more earth-friendly long term.
For the un-initiated, a new website makes it easier for you to make your space(home or business) more energy conscious outside of just DVR’ing “Greenovate” on Planet Green. Thanks for introducing us to this site. I guess Green is the new Black. Our city gives us recycle bins to encourage recycling. This is great because they pick up our recycling when they come to get the trash. It’s ridiculous how much stuff we throw away that could be recycled. If each household were to take up at least one of these solutions, we could really make a difference.
We were considering buying a few solar panel products for our house this past year. The only issue was the price. The least expensive system we found was close to 15 thousand dollars. It might have taken us several years to make back that amount of money. At any rate, we stumbled across these instructions for building your own solar power panels. We chose to try out that route. It saved us a great deal of dollars, and the no cost, efficient power is fantastic! 
We operate a number of of our appliances off of this source of power.
