Mr. T Defends His Snickers Commercial
For the past couple of days, I’ve been pretty drained and didn’t feel like blogging. I’m tired of politics and there’s nothing in the news that interested me. Until now. I saw this commercial linked on the NPR News & Notes website and had to blog about it.
Bill O’Reilly had Mr. T on his show to defend his Snickers commercial. Some people in the gay community thought it was offensive and it was pulled in Snickers’ Great Britain market. I’m not a big fan of Bill, but Mr. T is the man and I hate to see his name dragged through the mud. I grew up on the A-Team and he was tough guy who kept people in check. From the shows and interviews I’ve seen him on, he seems like a nice guy. If anything attack the Snickers marketing team for putting this together.
The million dollar question is, as a society have we become too sensitive when it comes to issues of race, sexuality, gender, etc? I’ve been watching this whole PC movement unfold and I don’t know if it makes things better or worse. Anything you say can be twisted and construed to mean something completely different than it was intended. Mr. T was obviously concerned about what people thought because he really didn’t mean anything by it. All he was only doing his job. I got ya back T!
What do you think? This is probably one of the funniest interviews I’ve ever seen.

Mr. T is the man and pulling the ad is stupid! I mean what year do we live in, last time I checked it was 2008 for pity sake.
I just downloaded Mr. T’s voice from Navtones.com for my GPS and I love it. But my question is, am I meant to get offended every time I make a wrong turn and he calls me a fool or something? On that note, I also got Kim Cattrall from Navtones, can I claim she is sexually harassing me when she says, “Lets just pull over and get in the backseat, that’s bigger enough for us two, or maybe three”?
The Snickers ad is just an ad and with them pulling it, it’s probably getting more attention than it would have if it just came out. (Pun)

Let the commercial run! I liked it. And why are they so defensive? Not all gay folks are that “prissy”. You’d be surprised.

I can’t stand Bill O’reilly, but this interview started my day off right. I was cracking up the whole time. And like you, I’ve always dug Mr. T.

I find this hilarious for two reasons (1) Mr. T’s outfit and (2) Bill O’Reilly (whom I don’t like whatsoever) trying to seem interested.
And there’s nothing wrong with this commercial AT ALL, I just think we live in a society where people are too sensitive and they try to make something out of nothing (which only leads to MORE publicity).

I know it’s wrong, Lord forgive me but I just want to smack Bill O’ Reilly in the face
