GREAT ADVISE!! I WAS IN THE NAVY, 1991-1995. WAS ALWAYS BAD WITH MONEY. DECIDED TO GET A BUDGET GOING, BEST THING I EVER DID, HAS HELPED ME IN SO MANY WAYS. WAS NOT A KID WHEN I JOINED THE NAVY, 36 YEARS OLD, SO YOU CAN SAY IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO IRON MY MONEY PROBLEMS OUT. ITS SAD, WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL THEY NEVER TAUGHT HOW TO START & KEEP A BUDGET, TEACH YOU EVERYTHING ELSE THAT MEANS NOTHING. OH WELL. I REALLY HOPE YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HIT THE JOB MARKET START A BUDGET OF SOME TYPE. THATS ALL FOR NOW. JEFF COSTIGAN

Join the Army? For financial reasons? What about learning to kill another human being?? Should we think about that also?

My college was paid for by the Government. I did not get a loan or take a hand out I served my country and used the GI Bill. I served in the National Guard while going to school after my time in the Regular Army was up. My school was paid for, I had spending money and I cut ahead of most of my clssmates in getting a job before I even graduated. Because I am working for the Government my active military time counts for seinority so I am getting more vacation than my peers and have more time credited towards retirement. I also got hired while many of my classmates are still looking for jobs. Consider the Military it was the best financial move and life decision that I ever made.
