If there was a rule about having cake on campus, then how did it get there in the first place? Why wasn’t anyone else beaten up over it? All I’m saying is, the security guard went overboard on the whole situation.

No, it’s alright, see. There is actually a rule against having cake on campus, so she was obviously a criminal even before she dropped the cake. Thank god that brutus stepped in. All we need is to get more of these fine protectors to brutalize more of the scofflaws, and then we’ll be safe.

How long before this fever breaks? How long before people wake up to what we’re becoming?

You know it wouldn't be long before some internet troll wrecks up the conversation. I'm all for hearing all sides of a story, regardless of black or white, but I just found it hard to justify the reaction of the security guard. He could have been reacting out of anger but does that give him the right to take down a girl half his size? Did she threaten him with a weapon? This is the main point of everyone's anger.

Reilly, you didn't do your statement any good. First off, you immediately assumed the posters on here didn't look at the entire situation and just jumped to the use of the race card. Second, you generalized an entire group of people. Third, you spewed your take on the situation without some sources. How about some links to where you got your information? You will find that the people that routinely contribute to this blog are objective thinkers and do consider true facts. Good sources aren't taken for granted or given a blind eye. Instead, you begin with insults and generalizations. How about simply stating your case with some facts. On the internet, it's easy to do what you did. However, we do things civilly here on "Now That's What I'm Talking About!!".

What was the reason for using force? Whether she was disrespectful or not, that is not his job to provide correction. He's a security guard. If no one was in danger of being hurt, then his job should have been to report her to the principal. Not take the situation into his own hands.

How can you say something like that about black families? Generalizations probably based on the news or some movie. It's views like that that make things worse. Check out my podcast. There's a lot of good information in it and you might learn something about black people.

Assumptions, hearsay, prejudice. You all jump to conclusions immediately assuming this girl is an innocent because she is Black and the guard White. This is not 1960 Selma. In today’s society, young Black children are taught that to disrespect “the man” is A-okay. Be rude, nasty and cuss out any authority figure is okay. You do not need to obey any rules and there are no limits to placed on you. Bad behavior is rewarded. This girl’s wrist was not broken per the ER doctor. This is all a scam, the girl’s mother (no father in the picture of course) is building up to a law suit. There is a history of illegal activity, drugs, gangs and all sorts of ghetto related stuff that exists in this girl’s “home life” if you dare call it that. Neighbors who live on the street where this girl’s “family” resides have gotten restraining orders against the girl’s mother. What a bad influence. Ghetto trash is all these people are.

Most definitely Theo. There’s no reason for a male security guard to hem up a teenage girl like that. Broken wrist or no broken wrist, it’s no excuse. Knowing the full story and if she threatened him in some way would be good but I can’t see anything justifying what he did.

Villager, I thing so too. There were a couple here in Dallas that I haven’t even blogged about yet.

Joel, I’d like to hear the other side of the story also. I know teens can be unruly at times, but physical restraint should only be used if they are putting themselves or others in danger by their actions. I couldn’t imagine what I would do if it were my child. A broken wrist? Damn that. I’m getting pissed just thinking about it.
