I'm sorry for the loss of such a young, active, socially conscious woman. My condolences to the King family. Thanks to the folk listed here for giving me the idea of saving the funeral programs that I have been keeping so that I can read them to my grandchildren and share the African-American legacy--to be passed down to the generations to come. We have paid such a bloody price to be citizens here in this great country, which economy was built on the backs of and with the blood of our people.

I,too, agree. There was so much coverage on Anna Nichole until I thought they were trying to resurrect her. Why couldn't we get a pdf copy of Yolanda King's funeral program? I, too am saving things like this for my children and their children. Even had three on the I-net for James Brown. Is not the work Yolanda did important to America, especially the young African Americans?

My condolences to the entire King Family. I have a copy of Coretta Scott-King's funeral program and would like to add Yolanda King's also for my grandchildren and myself. Where would I be able to obtain a copy?

Villager,

Well said. After her passing I was watching CNN and didn't see much coverage on it. I'm hoping I just missed it. But I did see a whole lot of coverage on Anna Nicole.

Sad.

I was very sad to learn of this news. Her death came so close to the death of Jerry Falwell ... it made me think that Heaven was trying to balance the books in some manner. Heaven needed a positive shining light (King) to balance the books for the negative sloth of Falwell.

Anyhow, my prayers for the family and friends of Ms. King.

peace, Villager
