Black Monday!!!
I was talking with Bryan Franklin, the CEO of 1imall.com and he sent me a press release about “Black Monday”. 1iMALL.COM is one of the few African-American online retail shops, so please support it. I wanted to have him on the podcast, but I didn’t get the chance to call him. I do plan on having him on a business-related podcast sometime next year.
LOS ANGELES, CA…….Consumers shopping at 1iMALL.COM on “Black Monday,†November 27, 2006, have the opportunity to own a piece of this diverse online marketplace.
Black Friday will be no different than last year. Many Brick & Mortar retailers which have operated in the “Red†all year will do more business on the Friday after Thanksgiving to move them into the “Black†hence the name “Black Friday.â€
Bryan Franklin, Founder of 1iMALL.COM knows that “Black Monday†will be just as lucrative for E-Tailers or better known today as internet stores. However, Franklin knows that this year will be different for 1iMALL.COM.
Why? Consumers are becoming ever increasingly comfortable with online shopping and thousands of them have bookmarked their favorite online store at 1iMALL.COM as their primary shopping source for Black Monday, November 27, 2006.
1iMALL.COM, which stands for 1 internet MALL, is a diverse online marketplace where shoppers can find everything from flowers, airline tickets, clothing, business services and office equipment; much like a local brick and mortar MALL except shopping is done via the internet. The added value of 1iMALL.COM is that it offers membership and monetary rewards from shopping commissions and referrals.
“1iMALL.COM shares the windfall of profits by using the referral marketing model so people can earn money while they sleep,†says 1iMALL.COM Founder Franklin, who is available to conduct interviews (Radio, TV and Print) and lecture around the country on capital development and bridging the digital divide. “Just as there is 1 eBay, there needs to be 1 internet MALL that consumers can own a piece of,†he added.
Franklin is one of a few African-American dot-com owners that are poised to capture a fair share of the estimated three billion dollars a day internet shopping market which benefits from the more than one billion people with internet access worldwide. Because our business is Black owned, being a major player on Black Monday is quite important to us,†Franklin intimated.

I’m done. Are You?
This morning my wife and I went to the local early voting booths and made our vote count. I wear the little sticker they gave me with pride. Early voting ends tomorrow, so if you haven’t flexed your voting muscle, go out and do it. If you’re a listener of my podcast, you know I’ve been trying to urge everyone to vote. It’s a right we haven’t always had, so don’t waste it.
But voting is just one step in the process of making change happen. Once the elections are over, we have to stay on top of our elected officials (whether we voted for them or not) and make sure our voice is heard. Try to take some time to learn how our government works and use that knowledge to make change. Ignorance is not always bliss.
My First Dear John Letter
I left this comment on John Kerry’s Blog. It had to be said:
Dear Senator John Kerry,
Considering your military experience, I would like to believe the statement you made about being sent to Iraq was taken out of context. You said it was a botched joke and for that, you should apologize. You are not a comedian. Just stick to the issues and beat them on that. We all make mistakes, but this one doesn’t help the Democratic cause at all. I am not in the military, but I was offended by what was said. Please consider apologizing (for the attempted joke) so we can all get back to the many issues at hand.
Now, because of this mistake I am now banning you from telling anymore jokes. You had your chance and failed. I don’t care where you are. In public, at home, in the car, it doesn’t matter. NO MORE JOKES! Leave them to the real jokesters in office.
